Nan Flanagan on television calling out Russell as an extremist and a terrorist. In short, the only character who is able to take Eric to task when his actions jeopardize his own safety and, in this case, the connection between sire and progeny. Beyond that, I can’t say it enough, I love this side of Pam, the child, the sibling, the spouse, the confidante, the best buddy. Pam’s hair was bangin’! Thumbs up for the flat iron. I would have been just as happy had she not learned in that moment that Jason shot Eggs, because watching Tara reassess everything and everyone she trusts after her traumatic encounter with Franklin is plenty dramatic. That said, Tara’s response to what she interpreted as Jason’s rejection - that she’s completely messed up - was genuine. To sexualize their relationship just didn’t feel necessary.

For all the times Sookie hasn’t been able to show up for her best friend, Jason has become Tara’s surrogate sibling. But I like Tara and Jason where they are. There are comfort kisses and buddy kisses and Thanks for Killing My Vampire Rapist kisses. But didn’t Bill all but recite to Sookie what were probably Stephen’s wedding vows to Anna? And then she’s kissing Eric? Even the kiss between Tara and Jason had me yelling at the TV. And if someone hasn’t worked “You can’t trust Bill” into a remix by now, give it another day.īut then Eric and Sookie kissed, and it wasn’t a dream, and I was all, “Wah? Now?” Don’t get me wrong, I love it when Eric and Sookie kiss. But now Eric and Bill have all the information and are back to their usual game of who can protect Sookie better. Then there’s the fact that Sookie was finally gaining equal footing with her vampiric peers. At the very least, her blood is delicious and nutritious! Also filed under Missed Opportunities, when Bill tells Sookie she’s a fairy, how hilarious would it have been if she’d replied, “What the f-ck am I?!” (See what I did there?)

Not to mention, after three seasons of only metaphorically saving Bill’s life with her sweet, sweet looove, her blood appears to offer vampires a temporary sun shield of sorts. Has she forgotten that fairies come with Go-Go Gadget Super Duber Electric Hands? She’s a walking defibrillator, for crying out loud. That in itself should have been a big deal and worthy of a flashback or moment of thoughtful contemplation on her part. Just the same, I think we’ll shelve “I Smell a Rat” near the back with the rodenticide. They don’t all have to be winners, folks. So, what happened? I’m just taking a hit off of Jesus’ mad intuition skills, but I think everyone was working off Sam’s hangover or in need of a nap. There was even a hunky hustler, 90210’s Michael Steger. And how unfortunate that it was titled “I Smell a Rat” because the online stinkin’ flingin’ had begun before the episode had even ended. Would that I could squee with the same delight over last night’s episode. This advertisement has not loaded yet, but your article continues below.
